Force model

Force Model is one of the best kept secrets of LA’s current noise rock scene.

After playing together in various bands throughout their early 20s, Edie Vogel (vox, gtr) and Ken Arimura (dr) decided to start a new project. The duo enlisted guitarist Preston Mendell to help flesh out some offbeat, heavy demos they had written together over the past year. With the addition of bassist Maxwell Moore, Force Model was born in a sweaty, masked downtown LA practice room in the summer of 2021. Since then, they have been tearing up loud gigs and building a loyal audience.

Their debut album Found Camera is 30 minutes of aggressive, dissonant, and joyful punk rock told across 10 tightly written vignettes. Taking influence from west coast garage-rock like Thee Oh Sees, as well as 90’s post-hardcore and power-pop songwriting, Force Model crafted something new and slightly bizarre. It is fast, raucous, heavy, and hard to pin down. Lead singer Edie Vogel’s lyrics paint scenes of abstract alienation with her mood swinging wildly from dread to detached amusement, to paranoia, to taking joy in embracing the darkness.

Found Camera is OUT NOW digitally and on cassette through Bug Body Records.
